My Focus
Healthy families
-
Expand Medicaid for families and veterans:
Linda will strongly support Medicaid expansion because it provides coverage to almost all adults with incomes up to 138% of the federal poverty level and gives states a higher federal matching rate. Many Kansans are going without desperately needed medical care. While 41 states and Washington, D.C. have expanded Medicaid, our elected officials won’t even allow the question to come to the floor for discussion or vote. Kansas is losing $1 million dollars a day by ignoring this opportunity. Your tax dollars are being spent in those other states! Let’s bring them home and take care of Kansans.

-
Maintain full and complete women’s healthcare:
Linda respects the Kansas Constitution, and the voice of Kansans who voted overwhelmingly to protect women’s rights to make their own decisions about all their healthcare choices. She knows the government shouldn’t interfere with women’s choices. During the 2024 session the KS House tried to pass 25 Bills to diminish these rights. Three actually passed. Linda believes that medical choices should remain free from government control.

-
Provide available, affordable, quality childcare:
Linda is committed to securing safe, high-quality childcare. She understands that this enables parents to work and earn a decent living, knowing that their children are in good hands.
Fiscal responsibility
-
Deliver property tax relief
The legislature barely touched property taxes in 2024, but they have pledged to do more in 2025. Linda looks forward to being part of that process. She will support the reduction of property taxes that helps taxpayers and is responsible for the future stability of Kansas’ financial standing.
-
Keep Kansas solvent now and in the future:
Linda will support tax relief for the middle class
and people who really need it. Under previous administrations Kansas economic standing was downgraded twice, endangering all future development. Linda will not allow tax cuts that jeopardize Kansas’ future or benefit the wealthy disproportionately.
-
Reduce wasteful spending:
Linda knows the difference between needed appropriations and waste. She will not support unnecessary elections like we had this spring that cost $2 million tax dollars, when those questions could have been included in the regular primary in August.
Education
-
Preserve school funding including Special Ed:
Linda supports education that works for all our kids. Special Ed and other support staff are desperately needed in our schools to assure that all students can thrive. This past session our elected officials fought against funding Special Education.

-
Attract and retain professional educators and support staff:
Linda respects our teachers and will fight for school funding as required by the courts. This past session our elected officials passed a bill to allow untrained HS graduates to teach in our schools. Our kids deserve the best trained and paid teachers – not babysitters.

-
Prepare students for success in future school and work:
Linda will fight for school funding that provides everything kids need to prepare for their futures. Technology, excellent teachers, and preparation for education after public school are all critical for their adult lives. Businesses require a skilled and educated workforce, and proper funding and support for our schools is the way to make it happen.
